These delightful cookies combine the rich flavors of chocolate fudge and colorful sprinkles, topped with a cherry to make every bite a celebration.
Ingredients
Scale:
1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 tsp baking soda
¼ tsp salt
½ cup unsalted butter, softened
1 cup brown sugar, packed
½ cup granulated sugar
1 large egg
1 tsp vanilla extract
½ cup chocolate fudge sauce
½ cup colorful sprinkles
½ cup maraschino cherries, for topping
Instructions
Preheat the oven: Set your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Mix dry ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt until well combined.
Cream the butter and sugars: In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar together using an electric mixer on medium speed until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
Add egg and vanilla: Mix in the egg and vanilla extract until fully incorporated.
Combine wet and dry ingredients: Gradually add the dry mixture into the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
Add chocolate fudge sauce: Gently fold in the chocolate fudge sauce until the dough is swirled with fudge but not completely blended.
Shape the cookies: Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, drop rounded balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
Bake the cookies: Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are firm but the centers are still soft.
Cool and decorate: Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for about 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack. Once cool, drizzle more chocolate fudge sauce on top, sprinkle with colorful sprinkles, and add a maraschino cherry on each cookie.
