Ingredients
Scale:
- 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups chocolate chips
- 1 cup soft caramel candies, unwrapped
- 2 tablespoons heavy cream
- 1 cup chocolate chips for drizzling
- Sea salt for sprinkling (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy, about 3-5 minutes.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
- In a small saucepan over low heat, combine the soft caramel candies and heavy cream. Stir until melted and smooth, about 5-7 minutes.
- Drop rounded tablespoons of cookie dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- Create a small indentation in the center of each cookie and spoon melted caramel into each indentation.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden brown.
- Allow to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
- Once cooled, melt the additional chocolate chips and drizzle over the cookies. Sprinkle with sea salt if desired.
