This recipe showcases how simple it is to create a homemade cobbler that bursts with flavor and showcases juicy peaches.
Ingredients
Scale:
4 cups fresh peaches, peeled and sliced (about 6 medium peaches)
1 cup granulated sugar (adjust based on sweetness of peaches)
2 tablespoons cornstarch
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup milk
1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
In a large mixing bowl, combine sliced peaches, sugar, cornstarch, vanilla extract, lemon juice, and cinnamon (if using). Toss gently to combine. Let this mixture sit for about 10 minutes.
While the peaches are resting, prepare the cobbler topping. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar until well combined.
Add the milk and melted butter to the dry ingredients. Mix until just combined; be careful not to overmix.
Pour the peach mixture into a greased 9x13-inch baking dish, spreading it evenly across the bottom.
Drop spoonfuls of the cobbler batter over the peach mixture.
Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown.
Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
