A delightful combination of sweet and savory flavors, perfect for game day or any casual gathering. This recipe uses a unique marinade that infuses the chicken with the essence of fall.
Ingredients
Scale:
2 pounds chicken wings
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 cup maple syrup
1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
1/4 cup apple juice
2 tablespoons soy sauce
2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
Chopped fresh parsley or chives for garnishing
Apple slices for decoration
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
In a large bowl, rinse the chicken wings under cold running water, pat them dry thoroughly, and season with salt and black pepper.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the maple syrup, apple cider vinegar, apple juice, soy sauce, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, and cayenne pepper.
Pour the marinade over the chicken wings, ensuring they are well-coated, and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, ideally overnight.
Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and place a wire rack on top. Arrange the wings in a single layer on the rack.
Bake the chicken wings for 40-45 minutes, turning them halfway through cooking.
While the wings are baking, pour the reserved marinade into a saucepan and bring to a boil, then simmer until it thickens.
Once the wings are done baking, brush the thickened marinade glaze generously over them.
Return the wings to the oven for an additional 5-10 minutes to caramelize the glaze.
Serve immediately, garnished with parsley or chives and apple slices.
