Cooking steak to a perfect medium-rare in your air fryer is easier than you might think. With the right technique and a few secrets, you can achieve a juicy, flavorful steak that rivals those cooked on a grill or in a pan.
Ingredients
Scale:
2 ribeye steaks (approximately 1 inch thick, about 1 pound total)
Salt, to taste
Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
1 tablespoon olive oil (optional, for marinating)
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon dried rosemary or thyme (optional)
1 teaspoon paprika (optional)
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce (optional)
1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar (optional)
Instructions
Start by removing the steaks from the refrigerator and letting them sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes.
If you choose to marinate your steak, combine olive oil, minced garlic, rosemary, paprika, Worcestershire sauce, and balsamic vinegar in a bowl. Mix well, ensuring all ingredients are combined. Add the steaks, ensuring they are coated well. Let them marinate for 15-30 minutes.
Pat the steaks dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture. Season both sides generously with salt and freshly ground black pepper.
Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for approximately 5 minutes.
Place the steaks in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Cook at 400°F (200°C) for 8-10 minutes, flipping halfway through.
Once cooked to your desired doneness, remove the steaks from the air fryer and let them rest for 5-10 minutes.
After resting, slice the steaks against the grain and serve.
