Ingredients
Scale:
1 ripe mango, peeled and diced
1-2 habanero peppers, seeds removed and finely chopped
3 cloves garlic, minced
1/4 cup honey
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon cumin (optional)
Instructions
Begin by preparing your ingredients. Peel and dice the ripe mango, ensuring it's sweet and fully ripe for the best flavor.
In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine the diced mango, chopped habanero peppers, minced garlic, honey, brown sugar, and apple cider vinegar.
Stir the mixture well to combine all ingredients, allowing the honey and brown sugar to dissolve completely.
Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer. Reduce the heat to low and let it cook for about 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Once thickened, remove the saucepan from the heat. Use an immersion blender or transfer to a standard blender, and blend until smooth.
Return the blended sauce to the saucepan and stir in the salt, black pepper, and cumin (if using). Simmer on low for another 5 minutes.
Once done, let the sauce cool slightly before transferring it to a clean jar or bottle for storage.
