Slow Cooker Beef and Cheese Sandwich

  1. Place the beef chuck roast in the slow cooker, layering with sliced onion and minced garlic.
  2. Combine beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, dried thyme, black pepper, and salt in a mixing bowl. Pour over the beef.
  3. Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or until beef is tender. Alternatively, cook on high for about 4 hours.
  4. Remove the beef and shred it. Return to the slow cooker and let it sit to soak up flavors.
  5. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Cut hoagie rolls in half.
  6. Layer shredded beef on the bottom half of each roll and top with a slice of provolone cheese.
  7. Place sandwiches on a baking sheet and bake for 10-15 minutes until cheese is melted.
  8. Remove from the oven, add any desired toppings, close the sandwiches and serve warm.
