Delicious and easy chicken skewers perfect for summer barbecues and quick dinner ideas, featuring a tantalizing marinade and simple preparation.
Ingredients
Scale:
1.5 pounds boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
12-15 wooden or metal skewers (if using wooden, soak in water for at least 30 minutes)
1/4 cup soy sauce
2 tablespoons olive oil
2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated (optional)
1 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon smoked paprika
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon sesame seeds (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
Prepare the Marinade: In a medium bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, olive oil, honey, minced garlic, grated ginger (if using), black pepper, smoked paprika, and salt until well combined.
Marinate the Chicken: Add the chicken pieces to the marinade, ensuring they are well-coated. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours.
Preheat the Grill: Heat your grill to medium-high heat (about 375°F to 400°F).
Assemble the Skewers: Thread marinated chicken pieces onto the skewers, leaving space between each piece.
Grill the Chicken: Place the skewers on the grill and cook for about 10-12 minutes, turning occasionally, until the chicken is cooked through and has nice grill marks.
Rest and Serve: Remove the skewers from the grill and let them rest for 5 minutes before serving. Garnish with sesame seeds if desired.
