Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, crab meat, green onions, garlic powder, soy sauce, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are fully incorporated and the mixture is creamy.
  2. To assemble the crab rangoon, lay a wonton wrapper on a clean surface. Place about 1 tablespoon of the crab filling in the center of the wrapper.
  3. Moisten the edges of the wonton wrapper with a little water. Fold the wrapper in half diagonally to form a triangle, sealing the edges tightly.
  4. Repeat the process with the remaining wonton wrappers and filling, placing the finished crab rangoon on a parchment-lined tray.
  5. In a deep frying pan, heat about 2 inches of oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
  6. Carefully add a few crab rangoon to the hot oil, frying for about 3-4 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
  7. Using a slotted spoon, remove the crab rangoon from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
  8. While cooling, prepare the dipping sauce by whisking together soy sauce, rice vinegar, honey, minced garlic, and sesame oil.
  9. Serve the homemade crab rangoon warm with the garlic dipping sauce on the side.
