Ingredients

4 large eggs
2 tablespoons of milk (or cream)
1 cup of diced ham
1/2 cup of shredded cheese (cheddar or Swiss)
1/4 cup diced onions (optional)
1/4 cup diced bell peppers (optional)
1/4 teaspoon salt (to taste)
1/4 teaspoon black pepper (to taste)
1 tablespoon of butter or oil for cooking
Instructions
Gather all your ingredients. Dice the ham and any vegetables you plan to use.
In a mixing bowl, crack the eggs and add the milk. Whisk vigorously until light and frothy.
Add salt and pepper to the egg mixture and adjust seasoning as needed.
Preheat a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Add the butter and let it melt.
If using, sauté onions and bell peppers in the skillet for about 2-3 minutes until softened.
Pour the egg mixture into the skillet, tilting the pan to spread it evenly. Cook undisturbed for about 1-2 minutes.
Once the omelet is partially set, sprinkle diced ham and shredded cheese over one half.
Carefully fold the other half of the omelet over the filling. Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until the cheese is melted.
Gently slide the omelet onto a plate and garnish with fresh herbs if desired. Serve immediately.
