  1. Gather all your ingredients. Dice the ham and any vegetables you plan to use.
  2. In a mixing bowl, crack the eggs and add the milk. Whisk vigorously until light and frothy.
  3. Add salt and pepper to the egg mixture and adjust seasoning as needed.
  4. Preheat a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Add the butter and let it melt.
  5. If using, sauté onions and bell peppers in the skillet for about 2-3 minutes until softened.
  6. Pour the egg mixture into the skillet, tilting the pan to spread it evenly. Cook undisturbed for about 1-2 minutes.
  7. Once the omelet is partially set, sprinkle diced ham and shredded cheese over one half.
