Ingredients
Scale:
1 pound of flank steak or sirloin steak, sliced into thin strips
1/4 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup honey
2 tablespoons minced garlic
1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated (optional)
1 tablespoon rice vinegar
1 tablespoon sesame oil
Salt and black pepper to taste
1 tablespoon vegetable oil (or more as needed)
Sesame seeds, toasted (for garnish)
Chopped green onions or scallions (for garnish)
Instructions
In a bowl, combine the soy sauce, honey, minced garlic, grated ginger (if using), rice vinegar, sesame oil, salt, and pepper. Whisk until well blended.
Add the sliced steak to the marinade, ensuring all pieces are well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours.
Preheat your grill pan over medium-high heat. Add the vegetable oil and let it heat until shimmering.
Remove the steak strips from the marinade, allowing excess marinade to drip off. Cook in a single layer in the hot grill pan for about 2-3 minutes per side.
Pour any remaining marinade into the pan during the last minute of cooking, allowing it to thicken slightly.
Remove the steak strips from the grill pan and transfer them to a serving platter. Sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds and chopped green onions.
