A quick and delicious twist on traditional sushi, combining layers of savory rice, creamy seafood, and a delectable sauce.
Ingredients
Scale:
- 2 cups sushi rice
- 2 ½ cups water
- 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup imitation crab meat, shredded
- 1 cup cream cheese, softened
- ¼ cup mayonnaise
- 2 tablespoons sriracha
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 green onion, finely sliced
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 tablespoon furikake seasoning (optional)
- Additional green onions for garnish
Instructions
- Rinse sushi rice under cold water until clear. Cook rice with water in a rice cooker or pot according to instructions.
- Mix rice vinegar, sugar, and salt in a bowl until dissolved. Fold into cooked rice gently.
- In a bowl, combine crab meat, cream cheese, mayonnaise, sriracha, sesame oil, and green onion. Mix until creamy.
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Spread seasoned rice in a greased 9x13-inch baking dish, then layer crab mixture on top.
- Sprinkle mozzarella cheese over the crab layer.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly. Broil for 2-3 minutes for a crispy top if desired.
- Garnish with furikake and green onions, then cool slightly before serving.
