A delightful and quick seafood dish that bursts with flavor, featuring tender tilapia fillets smothered in a rich, creamy garlic sauce infused with fresh herbs and zesty lemon.
Ingredients
Scale:
4 tilapia fillets (about 6 oz each), preferably skinless
Salt & pepper, to taste
2 tablespoons olive oil, extra virgin
1 tablespoon butter, unsalted
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup heavy cream
1/2 cup chicken or vegetable broth
Juice of 1 lemon (about 2 tablespoons), freshly squeezed
1 teaspoon lemon zest
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1 teaspoon dried thyme
1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
Pat the tilapia fillets dry with paper towels. Season both sides generously with salt and pepper.
In a large oven-safe skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
Carefully add the seasoned tilapia fillets to the skillet. Cook for about 3-4 minutes on one side, then flip and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.
Remove the fillets from the skillet and set aside. In the same skillet, reduce the heat to low and add the butter and minced garlic, sautéing for 1-2 minutes.
Pour in the heavy cream and broth, stirring to combine. Add the lemon juice, lemon zest, oregano, thyme, and red pepper flakes. Simmer for 3-4 minutes.
Return the cooked tilapia fillets to the skillet, spooning the creamy garlic sauce over the top.
Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for 10-15 minutes.
Remove from the oven and garnish with freshly chopped parsley. Serve immediately.
