Ingredients
Scale:
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon paprika
1/2 cup fresh lime juice (about 4 limes)
1/2 cup fresh orange juice (about 2 oranges)
1/4 cup olive oil
2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup (for sweetness)
1 tablespoon soy sauce (for umami flavor)
1 tablespoon chopped fresh cilantro
1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
Instructions
In a medium mixing bowl, combine all the dry ingredients: salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika. Whisk together until well blended.
Slowly pour in the fresh lime juice, orange juice, and olive oil. Add honey (or maple syrup) and soy sauce. Whisk continuously until the mixture is smooth.
Fold in the chopped cilantro and parsley, ensuring they are evenly distributed throughout the marinade.
Place your chicken in a resealable plastic bag or a shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the chicken and massage it into the meat.
Seal the bag or cover the dish with plastic wrap. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or for optimal flavor, marinate for 4-6 hours or overnight.
Preheat your grill to medium-high heat (about 375°F). Remove the chicken from the marinade and discard the marinade. Grill the chicken for 6-8 minutes per side or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F.
